About Cross of Christ Lutheran Church

Cross of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church was established in Portage, WI in 1986.
Our church is Bible based and remains firm in our commitment to believing and teaching the unchangable truths of the Bible, especially the good news that through Jesus' perfect life, suffering and death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead all who believe in him will receive eternal life in heaven.
We are a group of Christians who have our own unique abilities, who come from different backgrounds, and who are in different stages of life. Yet we are united in faith and exist to give thanks to God for the blessings we have through our Savior Jesus. We do this by serving God in our daily lives, worshipping him in church, and by sharing the good news of Jesus with one another, the city of Portage, and the entire world.
Cross of Christ is a member of the church body called the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS is a world-wide church body with over 1,200 congregations in all fifty states and 26 countries around the world.
