Our Mission
Water's Edge Church exists to make disciples through gospel-centered teaching, gospel centered community, and gospel-centered service.
** Our mission statement not only communicates the mission of WEC (to make disciples), it also reveals our strategy: through gospel-centered teaching, gospel-centered community, and gospel-centered service. We think of these as three distinct environments; A worship service, a community group, and a ministry to serve.
Our Vision
To be a church that is most passionate about what is most important.
** We want that to ring true at WEC. We are continually striving to be a church that is most passionate about what is most important. This begs the question as to what is most important? Here’s how the Bible lays that out for us:
The Great Commandment:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt 22:37-39).
The Great Commission:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt 28:19-20).
The Gospel Message:
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Cor 15:3-4).
