About Trinity Episcopal Church
-
We are a group of people who strive to love the Lord our God and one another. We come from a variety of different backgrounds but what binds us together is our commitment to becoming better followers of Jesus Christ. As Episcopalians our worship is shaped by the Book of Common Prayer. We firmly hold that what we pray is what we believe, and this shapes how we live.

Trinity is the oldest church in Portsmouth, founded in 1761, and given a prominent place on Church Square by Commodore Baron, who laid out the city. Located at the corner of High and Court streets, our congregation reflects and embraces the diversity of the city. While Trinity is aware of its past, it also fully embraces its future as a house of prayer for all God’s people.
