About Friendship

At Friendship, we know that walking into a church for the first time can be a bit intimidating. We really strive to be a church that meets people where they are, whether you've been following Jesus for many years or are just starting to investigate faith. Our hope is that you will discover Friendship in Chase City, Virginia to be a place where you can find community, grow in your relationship with Jesus and discover the mission for your life.

At Friendship we believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus-Israel's promised Messiah-was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.

About Receiving Christ: We believe the Biblical pattern for receiving Christ includes acknowledging that Jesus Christ is God's Son, repenting from personal sin, and inviting Christ to be Lord of your life. (1 John 1:8-9; Romans 6:1-7)

About Salvation: We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God; that it was purchased by Christ on the cross; that it is received through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or ritual; and that salvation results in righteous living, good works and biblically informed actions to bring about godly justice wherever we live.
