About Church of the Messiah
If you are looking for a church where people are going to be honest about who they are before God, a place where it's safe to be yourself, this is your church. If you are looking for a church where you can find forgiveness from God, hope, peace, and joy, this is your church. If you are looking for a church where you can encounter the living, risen Lord Jesus Christ and come to share in the life that only He can give, this is your church. As Christians, we are who God says we are in His Word, the Bible. There, in His Word, He says first of all that we are sinners. What does this mean? It means that we are people who are born broken, who are born out of line with God and His will for us. We are people who run after other things to be our gods and who are bound and determined to go our own way and do our own thing. That said, we here at Church of the Messiah would be the first to admit that we aren't perfect. We are not going to pretend that we are. We know that we don't trust God as we ought to and we don't follow Him as we ought to. This we confess.
But God's Word also speaks a second word about us. We are not just sinners. In Jesus Christ, God has declared in His Word that we are also His redeemed saints. We are those who have been washed clean of our sins in Baptism and who have heard and come to know the great forgiveness and love that are to be had in Jesus' death and resurrection. So, we are a joyful people. We are a loving people. We are a Spirit-filled people. We are a people who have been taken captive by the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ and who now want to share that Good News with others, especially other broken sinners.
Come check us out on Sunday mornings. Our service times are 8:30 A.M. and 10:45 A.M. Our worship is rooted in the historic liturgy of the Church and our music is a blend of traditional hymns and modern praise songs. Our spirit is joyful and evangelical. Our theology is traditional. Above all, we are Christ-centered and Gospel-driven.
