If you are searching for a large congregation, you have found it. If you are searching for a small congregation, you have found it. You do not need to re-read this, Your mind is not playing games with you either, no, what you have read is correct. Byrd is the largest small congregation and the smallest large congregation in Goochland.
We are small in numbers. According to people who use numbers to determine size, we are classified as a small congregation, less than 100 members. By the way, the majority of congregations in the USA fall in this category. We are thankful for this because our smallness essentially dictates our being. We are an extended family in Christ. Your sorrows are our sorrows, your joys are our joys, your needs are our needs, your dreams are our dreams. Is this not what a congregation should be? We are that for each other and believe me, much, much more….
We are large, very much larger than what the numbers suggest. We are large, some would say gigantic in caring, sharing and serving. And yes, not just to and for each other, but in and for our community. We chuck wood, deliver wood, support the Foodbank, do home repairs, fix cars, support Habitat, teach English to immigrants, reach out to needy families in unimaginable ways…and the list goes on and on and on.
