Mission
Eric D. Lacy is the Pastor/Founder of the True Love Christian Church. TLC was started in November of 2008 with a few members who believed that the principles of True Love can change and not only Enlist sinners but Embrace the Sick and Empower the Saints. This philosophy is born from the premise that a "Saint" is nothing more than a "Sick Sinner" saved by grace. Each message is crafted for the practical application of these fundamental truths to take the saints living to the next level.
The year 1999 brought him a lot of great things but none greater than his wife of 13 years, Chantine Lacy. Together, they have a blended family with four children, Jackie, Mike, Ariana, and Erica, and beloved nephew D'Andre Lacy. Through their ministry at home, God has shown Pastor Eric and Chantine Lacy God's design for the blended family. They utilize that through his powerful preaching and through her passion for single mothers.
Pastor Eric grew up in Palestine, Texas where he attended West Union Baptist Church and served under his father, Pastor Donald R. Lacy. He would later attend Tyler Junior College where he was Homecoming King and sang in the school choir on scholarship. He also attended Trinity Valley Community College and received an Associates Degree before transferring to Houston Baptist University where he graduated with a BA degree in Christianity and Communication.
Pastor Eric served as an educator in Palestine Independent School District as well as in the Houston Independent School District at Milby High School, where he was nominated for teacher of the year several times. Pastor Eric has also served as a Latino Club Sponsor, Forte Boys Fraternity Sponsor, and as coach for high school basketball, cross country, football and track. In every area of ministry on the high school level, consistent success has been evident from District Championships to a State Championship game appearances. Also, Pastor Eric currently serves on the Shared Decision Making Committee as well as Debate Coach at Milby High School. He has also served in the church as Music Minister, Youth Minister, Singles Minister and as Young Adult Minister. These experiences serving the saints of God in education as well as church have given him a unique perspective for ministry in addition to perpetuating an undying love for youth.
