About The Church At Houston
-
The Church at Houston is a people given over to the Divine thought of our heavenly Father - that He has in me a dwelling place, a place of His rest. In Christ, we are becoming that dwelling place of God through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, to Whom we presently surrender.
As sons of God, we declare to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Not that we have already obtained it [that place of sonship in Christ, since Sonship is evidenced by the life that can do nothing apart from the Father] or have already become perfect, but we press on so that we may lay hold of that for which also we were laid hold of, by Christ Jesus, our Lord.
By way of our testimony [the evidence of our life, lived], we shall declare to all men the Divine thought, and with all diligence, as one enlisted as a soldier, take the Gospel to a longing creation. And this is the Gospel; that the Almighty God has come to dwell within man. To be that dwelling, one must be made from above, made from heaven, by God’s own hand.
Therefore, we continuously look upon the cross of Christ as representing the death of everything that we were and are and look upon the risen and exalted Christ as possessing everything that we are and will be in the mind of God.
