About St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church
-
St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church is located in Spring, a Northwest Suburb of Houston, TX. Founded in 1985 by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, St. Ignatius of Loyola was first led by Priests from the Society of Jesus, better known as the "Jesuits". For twenty years the parish grew under the direction of our Jesuit priests. Starting with 300 hundred families in 1985, we have continued to grow to 4,300 families today.
In late 2005 it was announced that the Jesuits would be leaving the parish and that the Archdiocese would be assigning our fourth and latest Pastor. On May 1, 2006 Fr. Norbert Maduzia was named Pastor of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church. Under the leadership of Fr. Norbert we continue to grow as a community not only in numbers, but in faith and love for our fellow man. Our motto "A people for others" reflects the patronage of St. Ignatius of Loyola who was know as a "Man for others".
Our Parish leadership is divided into five commissions which help advise the pastor on the various areas of parish life. These five areas are reflected in the website menu structure: Administration, Community Life, Formation, Outreach, and Worship. While each area has definite areas of responsibility it is important to realize that each area supports the work of the others in a very important way.
