About Manvel Bible Chapel

WHO WE ARE

Manvel Bible Chapel is a local church of people who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

WHY WE MEET
We exist for the glory of God. We meet to glorify Him through Worship, Service and Evangelism.

WORSHIP: Our Lord instructed us to meet often to remember Him in the breaking of bread. We gather weekly for the Lord’s Supper to worship our blessed Lord Jesus.

SERVICE: Every believer in Christ has at least one spiritual gift given by the Holy Spirit. These gifts are used in serving one another for the glory of God. We encourage every believer to use their gifts to build up one another in faith, to meet one another’s needs, and to spread the gospel for the salvation of souls.

EVANGELISM: Jesus commanded His disciples to go into all the world preaching the gospel and making disciples. It is our aim to teach the message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone as the only hope for forgiveness of sins and peace with God. We do this through personal evangelism, home Bible studies and foreign missions.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the Bible to be the Divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God, revealing the ruin of man by sin and his redemption through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the one true God, Creator of all, who eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the absolute Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ- true God and true man. He is the only begotten and eternal Son of God, miraculously born of the virgin Mary. His life was absolutely perfect and sinless.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for sin. On Calvary’s cross Jesus Christ fully and eternally paid the penalty for sin and completed the work of redemption. God attested to His finished work by raising Him from the dead.

We believe in the forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus Christ. All who repent of their sins and trust Him receive eternal life are “born again” and become members of His church.

We believe in the imminent and personal return of Christ for His church.

HOW WE FUNCTION

At Manvel Bible Chapel, we are devoted to teaching and fellowship, the Lord’s Supper and prayer.

We are an autonomous local church, gathering unto the name of the Lord Jesus Christ alone. We do not seek a name for ourselves or take a denomination title. His name is the only name by which we wish to be known.

We practice the priesthood of all believers. We do not recognize a special class of people who do the Lord’s work. Every believer in Christ is encouraged to use their gifts to serve the Lord for the benefit of fellow believers.

The ministry of preaching and teaching the Word of God is given by spiritual men who have been gifted by the Holy Spirit.

Our church leaders are elders and deacons - Godly men who meet the qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9. The elders serve the believers by providing oversight and pastoral care. Collectively, the elders serve as shepherds under the authority of the Lord Jesus, who is the head and Chief Shepherd of His church.

We baptize believers in the Lord Jesus Christ by immersion. Baptism does not save. It is an act of obedience in which the believer identifies publicly with the Lord. Baptism symbolizes the work of God in salvation.
