About First United Methodist Church of Devine
-
We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the source of our forgiveness, our power to change and serve, and our hope for a better future. While we honor a rich heritage and faith tradition, we also strive to keep pace with the changing world around us. We do not claim to have all the answers or to be better than anyone else. But we do our best to heed the Lord’s command, saying, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind” and “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37, 39). We don’t limit our definition of neighbor as a privileged few, instead, we attempt to minister to all who we have the opportunity and capacity to help. And we take to heart Jesus’ command: “Do not judge, so that you may not be judged” (Matthew 7:1), because we recognize that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Please know that you are a precious child of God, loved and welcome to worship, study and serve the living God with us. Come Grow with Us!
We care about those who are mobility challenged. All of our church facilities are handicap accessible including the parking lot, sanctuary, fellowship hall and bathrooms.
