About Kingwood Church of Christ
-
At the Kingwood Church, we are a family of forgiven sinners, united in our love for Jesus and others. Our mission is to share, care, and prepare. We will CARE for one another with love by identifying and meeting needs that we have as individuals living in a fallen world. We will SHARE the incredible saving Gospel of Jesus, the grace and forgiveness it brings, and the joy of salvation we live each day! We will PREPARE for service and devotion to our Lord as we equip one another to live faithfully as disciples of Jesus!
Worship Assembly
There are five components of our worship assembly:
Communion: On every Sunday we assemble to observe the Lord’s Supper, a memorial established by Jesus Himself to commemorate His death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Prayer: We offer prayers of supplication and thanksgiving (1 Timothy 2:1-8; Acts 2:42; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Singing: We praise God and edify one another through a cappella (non-instrumental) singing (Colossians 3:16). We sing to praise God and to exhort and encourage one another. (Ephesians 5:19)
Preaching and Teaching: Accurate and relevant Bible teaching is an important element of our assemblies. We believe that we should have Scriptural authority for everything that we do as Christians and as a church. The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and it is all that we use to determine our practices and beliefs. (Titus 2:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:2-5)
Giving: In our Sunday assembly, our members give as they have been prospered in order to meet the needs of the Lord’s church in teaching and benevolence. This opportunity is a right and responsibility of our members and not a solicitation to our visitors. Our guests are neither asked nor expected to participate. (I Corinthians 16:1-2; II Corinthians 9:7)
We offer Bible Classes for all ages – from infant through adult – on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. All of these classes are Bible based and their purpose is to help individuals gain a better knowledge of the Bible and its practical application to one’s life.
