About Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Smithton
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of SmithtonMission Statement
Our mission is to come together to affirm our shared values and celebrate our diverse beliefs. We covenant to nurture and challenge the questioning spirit in each other. We advocate for, and participate in, the rehabilitation and protection of our environment. We oppose any intent or action that diminishes the human spirit, and we work for justice and equality for all people.
We welcome all without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, disability, affectional or sexual orientation, age, language, citizenship status, economic status, or national origin and without requiring adherence to any particular interpretation of religion or to any particular religious belief or creed.
We are a small, lay-led, congregation and each week we cover a new topic. We encourage everyone's participation in the discussions, however, there is never any pressure to do so.
Through our Guest in the Pulpit Series we are able to provide a variety of speakers, services, topics.
If you know of a guest or if you are interested in presenting a service, musical selections or other programs, please make contact with us at UUCofSmithton@gmail.com or send us a message through our Facebook page.
Note: Lay leaders can provide help with the the opening and closing of the service with the guest in the pulpit providing the centering portion.
