About South Park UU Fellowship
-
SPUUF is a lay led, informal, independent fellowship. We are a warm, open and friendly community of people. Our small size allows for a connectedness among members that has fostered a strong sense of belonging, family and community. We also have a casual atmosphere that many find a comfortable alternative to a more formal Unitarian church. We are also growing our membership, and are open to visitors at any time. Child care is provided for young children, and RE classes for older children.
Alice Blair Wesley has said this about Unitarianism:
"At a Unitarian Universalist worship service or meeting, you are likely to find members whose positions on faith may be derived from a variety of religious beliefs: Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, naturist, atheist, or agnostic. Members might tell you that they are religious humanists, liberal Christians, or world religionists.
All these people, and others who label their beliefs still differently, are faithful Unitarian Universalists committed to the practice of free religion. We worship, sing, play, study, teach, and work for social justice together as congregations-all the while remaining strong in our individual convictions."
At South Park Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship, our lay-led services feature a variety of inspirational and informative speakers drawn from the community, including college faculty, authors, ministers, and performers. Other programs feature the thoughts and talents of adult and youth fellowship members. Programs usually include a period for discussion and reflection.
