Vision
At Calvary Church, our vision is life change. Jesus said that He came to give us life in all its fullness (John 10:10). It is our firm belief that God has created us to connect with one another, grow in faith and serve others.
Beliefs
We are a Bible-believing, Spirit-filled church where we believe that God is active in our every day lives. We are a part of a large, global fellowship of churches called the Assemblies of God. For more information on our beliefs, click here.
History
In 1951, a group of families were impressed of the Holy Spirit that there were too many people in Toledo who needed to know Jesus. On December 2, 1951, they met for the first time in a store front building in East Toledo. This courageous group trusted God to use them to do great things for His Kingdom, and Calvary Church was born.
For over 60 years, God has been leading this local body of believers in innovative ways to share the love of Jesus with the Toledo area and the world. Calvary has always been a place committed to teaching God’s Word and allowing people the opportunity to experience the presence of God’s Holy Spirit. Through missions endeavors around the world, Calvary’s people have consistently placed a high priority on Jesus’ command that all the world come to know Him.
Calvary’s people have trusted God throughout the years to lead them as they have moved from East Toledo to church homes in South Toledo and now to Maumee.
In 2010, Calvary’s membership decided to once again trust God and relocate to the former Maumee 18 Theater on Conant Street. Our prayer is that you will find Calvary to be a place where you can connect, grow and serve together to experience the life change that only Jesus can bring.
