What We Believe
The Scriptures, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, to be the verbal and plenary inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, the infallible and complete revelation of His will for the salvation of all people, and the final authority for all Christian faith and life, and all truth.
There is one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three co-equal persons, the Father, the Son (our Lord Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Virgin Mary. He lived as a man, was tempted in all points, yet without sin. He died on the cross as a penal substitutionary sacrifice for our sins and was buried, arose bodily and ascended into heaven where at the right hand of the Father, He is our High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate. We believe in His personal, imminent and pre-millennial return for His redeemed ones, followed by His coming in glory to establish His millennial reign and to judge the rebellious.
The ministry of God the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict people of sin, call and regenerate the repentant sinner, indwell, baptize (once, at regeneration), seal, comfort, dispense spiritual gifts, guide, fill, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.
Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore a sinner and has a sin nature, and is lost apart from regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
The shed blood of Jesus Christ and his resurrection provide the only avenue for salvation from the judgment of God and provide the justification whereby all who come by faith to receive God’s grace (His son, Jesus Christ) are declared and made righteous by God. We believe that only those who repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.
All who are truly born again are kept by the faithfulness of God the Father for Jesus Christ through the sealing work of the Holy Spirit for all eternity. We believe that, based upon the promises of the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit, each Christian can have the personal assurance that he is a true believer.
