About Christ Episcopal Church
-
Christ Episcopal Church, on a crest above the Sparkill Creek in southeast Rockland County, is just 15 minutes north of the George Washington Bridge. It was founded in 1848 in a warehouse, not far from our present location, once owned by the founder of the Erie Railroad. But inside is a forward-looking, caring Christian community that is inclusive, family-friendly, decidedly unstuffy, and - dare we say - fun?
Our congregation is small and vibrant. We come from all walks of life. There are teachers, nurses, firefighters, students, scientists, and people from the media, entertainment and advertising worlds. Roman Catholics, and others from a wide variety of traditions, are among our numbers. Our priest is a full-time contemporary sculptor, and his work has been exhibited nationwide.
Some of us have been here for years; a lot of us are newcomers. But we all believe in making Christ present to others, through focusing our works and prayers right here in Rockland.
Welcome, and join us!
