About First United Methodist Church of Norfolk
We know you have a lot of great churches to choose from in Norfolk, Nebraska, and we encourage you to check them out. If in your search you find yourself on our doorstep, we will welcome you with loving arms. Our goal is to be an authentic community of believers who are learning to love Jesus and love others more and more each day. Come as you are - First United Methodist Church of Norfolk is a friendly and informal church. There's no need to dress up, unless it makes you feel more comfortable. We believe that, by the Spirit's agency, believers are renewed, sanctified, and adopted into God's family; they participate in the divine nature and receive his sovereignly distributed gifts. The Holy Spirit is himself the down payment of the promised inheritance, and in this age indwells, guides, instructs, equips, revives, and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.
About Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. He is 100% God and 100% man. His physical life was conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory to reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
About The Scripture: The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21
