About Fifth Street Baptist Church
-
FIFTH STREET BAPTIST CHURCH is here to help you achieve God’s purpose, and understand His Plan for your life. It is a church for men, women, children, youth and seniors. We desire to serve married, single, divorced individuals and developing families.
We encourage service in our church and the community. We hope you will learn more about our ministries, worship with us and most of all, get involved!
GOD
The Bible declares that there is but one living and true God, who exists in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being. He is the Maker, Preserver and Ruler of all things. (Deuteronomy 6.4, John 1:1, John 1:14)
THE BIBLE
We value Bible-centered preaching and teaching. It is comprised of the Old and New Testaments, the divinely inspired word of God that is without any mixture of error. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)
WORSHIP
We seek to praise and worship God wholeheartedly - as individuals, as families, and as a local church ( John 4:23-24)
PRAYER
As a church family, we intentionally seek to set aside special times for private, family and corporate prayer. (Matthew 6:7, 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
FAMILY
We believe God instituted the family from the beginning. Therefore, we encourage lifelong commitments to marriage between one man and one woman. We spiritually nurture and support the family through ongoing ministries and activities. (Matthew 19:5-6; Ephesians 5:22-6:4)
FELLOWSHIP
We believe that God instructs Christians to cultivate loving relationships as a community of believers. (Romans 12:10, 1 John 4:7-11) We intentionally nurture opportunities for fellowship, service, encouragement and accountability.
OUR PURPOSE
The Bible teaches that every disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ should work to glorify God through the proclamation of the good news of salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We will endeavor to share the message of salvation with all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic status in our local community and throughout the world. (Matthew 28:18-20, Romans 1:16-17)
SALVATION
The Bible teaches that salvation is freely offered to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from repentance of sin and the placing of personal trust in Jesus Christ as Lord. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-13)
STEWARDSHIP
We encourage every member to adopt a lifestyle of stewardship that recognizes God’s ownership of everything and to support the work of the church through their time, abilities, and money. (1 Corinthians 4:2, 1 Peter 4:10)
