About Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church
-
We are a community of around 250+ caring and kind people. There are married couples, young families, Baby Boomers and folks in their 70s. Other than that, it's mostly folks who are interested in being part of a faith community, emphasis on COMMUNITY. Maybe half of us identify as Presbyterian; the rest are post-Evangelicals, Methodists, agnostics, Reformed, Catholic, and the ever-popular "nothing". Actually, it's pretty easy to look around on any given Sunday and think, "I'm unclear what all these people have in common," yet it works and even more than that, it is beautiful.
Chapel Hill is a community of faith. Our spirit is best seen in and through our relationships; we love being together! Chapel Hill is also experimenting with new ways to do church which make sense to suburban postmodern folks. It is a place where:
The Gospel matters, the concept of being part of a faith community is re-contextualized, and we are free to reclaim the word "Christian"
Scripture is honored enough to be faithfully questioned and struggled with
We are co-creators of our mission outreach, rather than just passive participants.
The Chapel Hill community is both intellectually and spiritually stimulating
We provide a connection or a bridge to the traditions of the church; you matter to God and so you matter to us
