Services

Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church offers a variety of individual services. Currently, beyond public Sabbat rituals and educational opportunities, we offer the following to the community:

Rites of Passage – The Clergy of CPWC are trained in facilitating rituals to mark the important milestones and life changes within our community. Every member of clergy has a different style and structure with such rituals, and will work with you for an appropriate expression of the rite. Traditional pagan Rites of Passage include:

Wiccaning – A ritual for young child, to bless, protect and consecrate that child.
Coming of Age – A rite for boys and girls ranging from early teens to early twenties, signifying entering into the role and responsibilities of adulthood.
Handfastings – A ceremony of commitment between a couple. The ritual can be a spiritual union only, or a legally binding marriage, we have clergy register with the clerk of courts office (this is Parish specific). We welcomes all relationships of love whether they be straight, gay or lesbian (love, honor and respect are the key).
Handparting Ritual - Should the relationship end and ties need be broken.
Croning & Saging – A ritual of elderhood for women (Croning) or men (Saging) indicating entry into the phase of life that is marked by wisdom, maturity and mentorship.
Crossing – Rituals to aid an individual in passing from this life into the next life in the realm of spirit.
Funeral – A ceremony not only for the dead but for the living, to mourn and celebrate the life of the deceased.
Pet and/or Familiar passing ritual - A ceremony to honor our beloved furred or feathered friends.

Other services we offer are:

House Blessings and Cleansing - Weather it is a new residence or old we can tailor the ritual to suit your needs.
Pet Blessing - similar to a Wiccaning but for our furred and feathered friends.
Spiritual Counsel – Our clergy members are available for spiritual counseling and a wide range of healing services, dependent upon the High priest or Priestess. Spiritual counsel is often done in conjunction with divination techniques and readings such as Tarot, Runes, Scrying and Mediumship.
Spiritual Healing – We also offer spiritual healing in the Witchcraft traditions supplemented with complimentary modalities including energy work, Reiki, guided meditation, herbalism, flower essences, and crystal therapy.
Prison Ministry – The Prison Ministry offers lessons and guidance to inmates. See our prison ministry section for more details.
Military Outreach – The Military Outreach Program is available to provide written and/or electronic communication, supplies and support to those who are currently serving in any branch of the United States Military.

About Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church

Mission Statement:

Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church exists to provide ritual
observance of the eight Sabbats, to create cordial ties between
diverse faiths, to perform services and other acts of charity
as our resources permit, to minister to Wiccans who are
incarcerated, to teach the tenets of our faith to seekers, and
to exemplify the finest aspects of our religion to the community.

Covenant of the Pentacle Wiccan Church is an inter-traditional, eclectic Wiccan circle founded in 1994, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. We aim to bring people of many different backgrounds together for worship, celebration, and learning. We have circles located through out the state ie: Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Shreveport.

Our New Orleans circle is open and public for all Sabbats, and we hold classes and seminars, with training for all degree levels. Our initiate courses are college level and include history and anthropology, as well as ritual and magical subject matters. We welcome solitaries as well as members of other covens under the umbrella of our church.

Our clergy can perform legal marriages and all rites of passage. We are involved in many interfaith actions and founded the Pagan/Wiccan prison ministries in Louisiana over ten years ago. We are area chaplains (in hospitals and universities) and work in various social causes. We are trusted and respected by area media and are frequently in the public eye, even assisting law enforcement when a crime appears to have "occult" overtones.

Most importantly, we take care of one another and honor the God/dess and Elements and all of their wonderful manifestations in our lives. We work tirelessly to educate and dispel the myth associated with Wicca. CPWC members are from all socio-economic and educational backgrounds.
