About Cambridge Church
-
Cambridge started public worship services at the Martin City Melodrama in the fall of 1996. Since then, we’ve called home to a number of awesome schools around Southern Kansas City for the last 15 years; Barstow, Leawood Middle, Blue Valley North High School and Blue Valley Middle School.
Beginning April 28th, 2013, we worship at our new location in the La Paloma Plaza @ 119th and Glenwood.
Our goal has always been to reach out to people who have gotten disconnected from church and to show them how Christ can be relevant to their daily lives. Without ever having a permanent home, Cambridge Church has grown from just a handful of people to over 200 regular attendees on a Sunday and has reached hundreds more with the good news of Christ. Since 1996, God has sustained Cambridge beyond what is humanly imaginable.
After purchasing property at 163rd and Roe Avenue, Cambridge raised money to build its first building. When the church was unable to get a loan for their first building due to the recession, we decided to develop our land into a park to serve the community.
Cambridge intends to put its church building on the land sometime in the future. In the meantime we want to provide wholesome family-friendly events for the community to enjoy. The property is available during the week for anyone to enjoy the playground, Nine-hole Disc Golf Course, and Prayer Garden. Bike paths and a practice field are in consideration for the future on the property.
Cambridge is an Anglican Church and part of the ACNA. We combine ancient and modern elements with relevant biblical teaching in a casual family-friendly environment. Our pastor, the Rev. Jay Fowler, is an unpretentious guy. He loves helping people connect with Jesus Christ.
