About Tree of Life Anglican Church
No matter who you are, or where you've been, or what you've done, you are welcome at Tree of Life. We are a congregation of many different ages, races, nationalities, and backgrounds. The love of Christ draws us together as we worship God and share our lives with one another. Through this Christ-centered unity, we are sent out together to witness in peace to the coming Kingdom of our Lord and invite those around us into the fellowship of God.We are joyfully an Anglican Church (Anglican Church of North America) and the Diocese of the Great Lakes serving under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Because we are a diverse congregation, Tree of Life worship blends a number of styles and traditions to create a worship experience all it's own. Some people dress up; most folks dress down. We sing modern worship music, gospel, hymns and ancient Christian songs. Some of us clap, some raise our hands, some kneel and some just take it all in. Tree of Life is the kind of place where you can come as you are whoever you are.
Each week at our worship gatherings we seek to glorify God by proclaiming who God is and submitting our lives to Christ's transforming presence through Worship, Word, Intercession, Confession and Sacrament. We believe the Holy Spirit not only brings us up into the big picture of God, but also comes down into the details of our lives. Thus our worship life offers a mix of pre-written liturgy (words that help us pray together) and spontaneous times of prayer and intercession. We use pre-written liturgy to help all of us participate in worship and as a way of submitting to the larger story of God's saving acts through Jesus Christ. In the midst of that profound liturgy, our worship also includes times of free prayer and praise.
Each week we share Communion (also called the Eucharist or the Lord's Supper) together. Communion is a special meal Jesus commanded his disciples to celebrate in remembrance of his death and resurrection. We believe that through Communion Christians spiritually encounter Jesus and are filled anew with his life-giving spirit and resurrection power. All baptized Christians who profess Jesus as Lord are welcome to the table at Tree of Life. If you want to know more about our beliefs or have questions about being baptized please talk to one of our pastors.
Personal intercessory and healing prayer is also available each week during Communion in the Prayer Chapel at the back of the sanctuary.
