About Church at Smith Valley

Here at Church at Smith Valley (formerly Smith Valley Baptist Church), you'll be treated like family whether you are a first time guest or member. Our traditional yet current atmosphere creates a space where connections are made that go beyond Sunday morning worship service.

What we Believe

We believe in a triune God: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of the world, was dead and burred, and resurrected on the third day. We believe that by confession of sins and profession of faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior, our sins are forgiven and we will have eternal life in Heaven. We believe at the point of salvation the Holy Spirit is deposited in us and we rely on Him to guide our lives and help us grow in our personal relationship with Jesus. We celebrate Believer's Baptism by immersion. We believe baptism is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in Jesus, death to their old life, and resurrection into a new life in Christ. ​
