About Bethesda Baptist Church

Bethesda exists to be a genuine community of gospel-centered people who are on mission, seek to love our city, and be satisfied with Jesus Christ alone.
A lot has changed in the 165 years of Bethesda Baptist Church; yet, through it all, the Lord has proved Himself faithful. Bethesda was organized in February of 1851, and in the early days of the church, pioneers would meet in a log school house. Today, Bethesda Baptist Church looks to reach Brownsburg and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through many areas of ministry and outreach. Globally, we seek to advance the Gospel through partnering with approximately 27 missionary families. We regularly have Send Me Journeys in which our local congregation partners with various missionaries throughout the world. Locally, the Lord has graciously allowed Bethesda to take part in planting and saving 10 churches in the greater Indianapolis area over the past 25 years. Ultimately, our goal is to serve Christ where He has placed us in our everyday lives. Thus, we seek to reach the town of Brownsburg for His glory. One of the ways we do this is through the equipping of the saints on Sunday mornings and evenings. We also believe that we must make a mark on our community, and we try to do this through the Storehouse, which is a ministry that reaches people for Christ by feeding and clothing them. Another ministry is Bethesda Christian Schools, which recently celebrated 50 years of Christ-centered education. BCS reaches children in PreK – grade 12 by “Teaching the mind, reaching the heart.” God has done great things in the lives of His people at Bethesda and we praise Him for continually using this church for His glory!
