About Unitarian Church of Hinsdale
-
Founded in 1887, The Unitarian Church of Hinsdale is now well into its second century of service to Chicago’s western suburbs.
Our 300 members are drawn from many communities and represent a broad mix of men, women, children and teens with a common spiritual bond–the freedom to pursue a liberal and humanistic religious life based on individual freedom of belief.
Our religious education, Coming of Age, and Youth Groups stress tolerance and inclusion and help our children develop their own beliefs and ethics, in an environment free of dogma and fear.
Our church is a Welcoming Congregation, dedicated to inclusiveness towards bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender people.
The UU Ministry for Earth has certified our church as a Green Sanctuary in recognition of our programs and achievements in fostering sustainability for our faith community and our members.
Unitarian Universalist Animal Ministry has certified us as a Reverence for Life Congregation, the first in the world.
