True Holiness Church of God in Christ was founded in 1969 by Pastor James Curtis Harris Senior and Mother Calitha Harris. Pastor and Mother Harris grew the congregation beyond the confines of their basement to what is now known as the “headquarters” in Harvey, Il. Pastor Harris faithfully declared to the masses “everything will be alright” until his final breath.
After serving alongside his father, Pastor Carl Jerome Harris Senior was ordained as the Senior Pastor of True Holiness in 1996. He has continued the legacy of his father in leading this multigenerational church. Under Pastor Carl’s leadership, True Holiness has proven to be a church filled with His glory. It is Pastor Carl’s vision to see the church continue to grow in their love for God and one another as the happy church on the Southside.
