A community centered in worship...
Gathered around the Cross, sent forth to serve!
We are a Christian community with a mission! And we define that mission this way:
We strive to be a worshiping, spiritually alive community, caring for one another and sharing the love of Christ with all people through compassionate service and joy.
Our diverse family is composed of infants, folks in their 90s, and every age inbetween. We are single, couples, and families from a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds. WE WELCOME ALL to join our fellowship -- for a single occasion or for a lifetime! We value children as full members of God's family, and provide a nursery with qualified staff at all times when we gather.
The History and Tradition of Christ The King Episcopal ChurchOn January 23, 1955, Christ the King Episcopal Church was formally founded as a mission of the Diocese of Central Florida. An average of 35 folks had been gathering for weekly worship for a little over a year in preparation for this great day! It only took another year before buildings were erected and two more years for the congregation to become self supporting. In a matter of seven years the current sanctuary was built. The traditional purpose statement of Christ the King Episcopal Church -- "to know Christ and to make Him known" -- sounds simple on the surface, but has been carried out in a multitude of ways over more than a half-century of worship, fellowship, and service. Many hundreds of lives have been touched through this family of faith. We pray that God will continue to bless Christ the King as it continues to pursue its mission through the faithfulness, generosity, and perseverance of its members.Come Grow with Us!
