About St. Luke's Episcopal Church Westcliffe
-
St. Luke's Episcopal Church is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo mountain foothills at an elevation of 7888 feet above sea level. These beautiful mountains have been called the "The American Alps" by some. The church is over 100 years old, being first built in Rosita, Colorado. St. Luke's found itself later being moved to Silvercliffe, Colorado and then to Westcliffe, Colorado. All these towns find a home in the Wet Mountain Valley, once flourishing with the silver and gold mining rush activities. St. Luke's has a strong outreach program for the local community hosting an free annual community picnic in July and Custer County school programs (Week-end Snack Packs and Back to School Back Packs) to name a few of the programs.
St. Luke's is a caring, loving and spiritual congregation served by three supply priests. Our doors welcome all visitors and congregants throughout the year. If you are in our neighborhood, please join us at 10:30 on Sundays for worship and fellowship. Potluck Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, all are welcome (whether you can bring a dish to share or not).
We look forward to meeting you and having you join us. "The Peace of the Lord - Be always with You"
