About First Avenue Presbyterian Church

“First Avenue Presbyterian Church is a loving Christian family embracing and uplifting all of God’s children.”

We have been serving the Denver community since 1887.

We Believe

That God is the creator and Lord of the Universe.

That men and women are created by God in His image to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever. By following His plan, people are called to tend His world, living as sisters and brothers in peace and love.

That the Bible is God's book to us which He produced by inspiring holy people. As we read it, we find it to be His infallible rule of faith and practice.

That Jesus Christ is the Son of God - God's Living Word, who expressed in human terms who God is. We believe that everyone who receives Him discovers peace with God through forgiveness of sin and the hope of eternal life.

John 3:16

That the Holy Spirit is the unseen Enabler of God who continues the life work of Christ in believers.

That the Church is Christ's body and is present wherever believers are drawn together. Through worship, teaching, fellowship and service, believers are strengthened in Him and non-believers are drawn to Him.

That the greatest single force in the life of the church is Christ's love expressed through His people.
