About St Mark''s Episcopal Church

  • No matter what your story is, at St Mark''s Episcopal Church we believe that with God as the foundation, everybody can write a story of hope and success. Meet other believers from in and around Little Rock in Arkansas and make friends so you can enjoy the journey together. "The believers shared a common purpose, and every day they spent much of their time together in the Temple area. They also ate together in their homes. They were happy to share their food and ate with joyful hearts." Acts 2:46

We believe that the true church is composed of all those who have been saved by God's grace through faith and regeneration by the Holy Spirit and are thereby united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. This church is manifest in local churches, whose membership should be composed only of members of the true church. The two biblically-mandated ordinances of the church, baptism and the Lord's Supper, visibly and tangibly express this gospel, strengthening our faith. They are to be celebrated by the church in obedience to Christ, but are not a means of salvation.

About The Holy Spirit : The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity, equal to the Father and Son. He is present in the world to make mankind aware of our need for Jesus Chris. He indwells every Christian from the moment of salvation as the Divine Helper, empowering him or her to live a victorious life and fulfill the Great Commission, given by Christ. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an empowerment for service that takes place in the life of the Christian (Acts 2:5,8).

About Salvation: We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God; that it was purchased by Christ on the cross; that it is received through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or ritual; and that salvation results in righteous living, good works and biblically informed actions to bring about godly justice wherever we live.
