About St. Francis of Assisi Church
-
Welcome to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church!
In 1908, approximately 40 Dutch families worked together to commit themselves to build a parish and school where they could worship in praise and adoration as well as educate and form the youth. In 1909, the parish was established and a few years later in 1912, the school was opened.
Our parish and school grew from such humble beginnings by following the example of our patron St. Francis of Assisi. Above all he wanted to bring people to a simple, childlike acceptance of the Gospel in their lives and a sincere imitation of the poor, humble, and suffering Christ.
United with his legacy of service to the poor was his deep love for the Eucharist that flowed into his prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Centered in the Eucharist we are called to encounter, follow and imitate Jesus’ way of life through the humble example of our patron.
We are called and challenged to experience the Eucharist as the center of our lives and worship. Together we strive to faithfully live the Gospel here in Roy as one family united in Christ.
We are a vibrant community blessed with many organizations and activities. We invite you to review the informational provided and invite you to share your time, talent, and treasure to add to our faith-filled community.
May you and your loved ones feel welcome and at home at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
In Christ’s love,
Rev. Michael Vuky
