About New Horizon Church International
-
New Horizon Baptist Church was founded in September 1987 by Rev. Ronnie C. Crudup, Sr., who was instructed by the Holy Spirit to “go establish a church that would be on a new horizon.”
The congregation started with 56 charter members and was blessed of God to experience steady growth.
During the first three years of its existence the congregation met in a variety of rented facilities.
In September 1990 the congregation purchased and moved to its Belvedere Drive location in South Jackson.
In January 1998, the membership voted to delete the term Baptist from the Church’s name and has since been known as New Horizon Church.
In January 2003, the congregation voted to become affiliated with The Fellowship of International Churches (F.O.I.C.) and to become known as New Horizon Church International.
In November of 2009 the congregation moved from its Belvedere Drive location to its current Ellis Avenue location.
The vision of New Horizon Church International is “to be a people of love and victory.” This is based on the Scriptural admonition given in Ephesians 4:15, which states: “but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ.”
The Mission statement of New Horizon Church International is: To Worship God And To Make Disciples. Our method to achieve this is through the following:
REACHING the unsaved, the uncommitted and those seeking a change in their worship experience and see them become active and productive members of Christ’s body.
TEACHING biblical principles as they apply to every aspect of life.
EQUIPPING all people to exercise the gifts, abilities and influence for the building of Christ’s Church and God’s Kingdom.
