The term “Evangelical” refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the Gospel and to the authority of Scriptures as being inerrant in the original autographs and the only safe and sufficient guide to faith and practice.
The term “Free” refers to our form of church government which assures that our local churches are free from a central controlling body. Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) churches depend upon the active participation of pastors and lay people in the decisions and direction of the local church.
The purpose of this church is to glorify God by making disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), by proclaiming the Gospel, both at home and in other nations and cultures (Acts 1:8), by teaching, instructing and training followers of Jesus Christ to obey all His commands, by “equipping of the saint for the work of service” (Ephesians 4:12), and by worshiping God, both corporately and as individuals (Romans 12:1).
